Many of you know Mary Beth Taylor, but for those that may not, she is a Regional Manager for Allegiant-Carter Management. Read, in her own words why she began Purses with Purpose. This month the MBAAA will be working with this organization to seek donations. Please plan to bring any of the items listed below to this month's luncheon.
Six years ago, my heart pulled towards a women’s shelter in Mobile, AL, called McKemie Place. The main goal of McKemie is to provide a safe place for homeless women to stay while encouraging them toward self-sufficiency and helping them regain their independence. After determining the needs of this shelter, my team and I put together a purse drive within our apartment community, filling each purse with essential toiletry items. After witnessing the positive impact that this had on the lives of the ladies, I knew we had to keep going, and that is how Purses with Purpose started. With the help of volunteers, we have directly donated over 1000 purses to eight different non-profit organizations in the local area.
