Join us on Thursday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. and hear from District Court Judicial Candidate, Richard Foreman. Time will be reserved for Q&A.

Every decision a judge makes can have last effects on the community. It is not only about the parties involved in civil disputes or the victims and defendants in criminal cases. Every decision a judge makes affects families, friends, businesses, and the safety and well-being of the community. To be a judge is an act of service. To be a judge you need the wisdom, experience, and strength to make the hard decisions that protect our constitutional rights and ensure our safety.

Born in Mobile, Richard Foreman, attended Auburn University for his undergraduate degree and received his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law. He has been practicing law for over 20 years. He is currently serving as Deputy Chief at the Office of the Public Defender where he supervises and trains the trial attorneys and staff. As part of his duties, he also oversees his offices cases in four Circuit Court Rooms.

Prior to helping form the Office of the Public Defender, Richard had his own law practice. Richard has also practiced civil law throughout the state. A decade of his career was spent as an Assistant District Attorney serving as Circuit Court Prosecutor. While prosecuting at the Mobile District Attorney's Office, he was assigned to the Sexual Assault Recovery Team and the Nation's Sexual Assault Kit Initiative. Throughout his career, Richard has had nearly 100 jury trials.

He is now a candidate for District Court Judge Place 6, where he hopes to continue to use his experience to serve Mobile County.
